Fostering co-operation of science and industry
Food industry is the largest production sector in Europe and is driven by innovation in order to keep up in competition. Technological and scientific knowledge transfer is crucial for adopting cutting-edge solutions. The access to results of scientific research in the food sector shall be facilitated by enhanced co-operations between universities and industry and the development of an appropriate training program in higher education.
EU coordinated Methods and procedures based on Real Cases for the effective implementation of policies and measures supporting energy efficiency in the Industry
http://www.eumerci.eu/
The overarching objective of EU-MERCI is to support, in a coordinated way, the growth of energy efficiency in industry processes. It will develop methods and tools for assisting EU industry in the effective implementation of energy efficiency improvements and in the monitoring of the energy savings, in application of the 2012/27/EU Directive.
Pivotal Assessment of the Effects of Bioactives on Health and Wellbeing. From Human Genoma to Food Industry
Scientific understanding of the role and mechanisms of bioactives is fragmented. Research often addresses the theoretical possibility of health improvement effects rather than their real, practical use for everyday diets. Bioactives cannot be considered as discrete chemical compounds and research must focus on bioactive-enriched foods (BEF), if consumer demands for foods delivering appropriate health and wellbeing benefits are to be fulfilled.
Vocational Eductaion and Training of Communication Skills
F4G intends to strengthen the relevance of Vocational Education and Training in the labour market, through the development of a training model addressed to technical profiles of the food sector, aimed at improving the communication skills of innovation incorporated into the food product, in order to create added value in the product and a more dynamic market.
